Lançamento da série The Simpsons @ Kidrobot LA

Dia 20 foi o lançamento da nova série blindbox da Kidrobot, "The Simpsons" mini fig. A loja de Los Angeles ficou pequena para acomodar tanta gente que apareceu por lá. Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa e Maggie tiraram fotos com a galera. E os toys... bom, os toys são fofos! Corpinho de Munny e cabeça meio achatada/estilizada para parecer mais com toy e não com meros bonecos de desenho.

A Toy2R já trabalhou com Bart Simpson na estréia do longa, fazendo uma exposição do Bart Qee White 10'' customizado por vários artistas. Além disso, vários Qee já foram lançados do Bart e do Homer depois disso, incluindo um pack exclusivo do último SDCC.

Anyway, a série é uma graça e a Plastik já fez a encomenda na KR. Deve chegar para o natal se não depender da burocracia.

O que foi interessante no lançamento desta série foi a polêmica que rolou no fórum da KR, precisando de esclarecimentos do próprio Paul Budnitz em seu blog. Recomendo uma leitura cautelosa do post e que mantenham a cabeça bem aberta. Leiam os comentários também, são bemmmmmm válidos.

É uma discussão sadia que nos ensina a discutir o que é realmente importante no universo da Toy Art. E VOCÊ, o que acha?

On the 20th, Kidrobot released the new "The Simpsons" mini-fig blindbox. The LA store got really small for all the crowd up there. Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie were there taking pics with the people. And the toys... well, the toys are really cute! A Munny-body with a slighty styled "smashed" head to look more like an art toy than like a regular cartoon fig.

Toy2R has already worked with Bart Simpsons on the release of the movie. A really cool exhibition in which a blank 10'' Qee Bart was customized by various artists. Besides this, a bunch of Bart and Homer Qees were released, including the recent SDCC pack. Anyway, Plastik has already got a few boxes of the series, and if it does not depend on the bureocracy, it'll be here for x-mas.

The curious thing about the release is that it caused a polemic blast on KR forum. Paul Budnitz had to "explain everything" in his personal Blog, cause the situation was harsh. I strongly recomend a careful reading on his post and another one on the comments page. Keep your mind open all times.

Its a healthy discussion that makes us realize what really important in the Art Toy scene. And what do YOU think?

Kidrobot show and Project Munny Canada

E é por isso que amamos a Kidrobot! A “máquina de sonhos” de Paul Budnitz não se limita aos toys para compor sua gama de produtos, mas também se utiliza da moda para passar todo o lifestyle da marca e permitir que as pessoas sintam na pele (literalmente) o que é se vestir de toys.
Intitulado “Kidrobot show and Project Munny Canada”, o desfile foi no dia 21 de março às 8:00 pm no Circa (parceiro de longa data da marca) durante o L’Oreal Fashion Week em Toronto, Canadá. A passarela branca serviu de palco para o show de cores das camisetas, bermudas, casacos, bonés, mini Munnys, e as galochas da Hunter Wellington que patrocinaram o desfile. Um Mega Munny Branco em um pedestal na ponta da passarela foi grafitado com canetões por artistas/modelos, enquanto outros dançavam break e faziam poses para o público.
Diferente de um desfile comum, os modelos não eram estereotipados, mas sim pessoas normais, daquelas que você encontra na rua usando uma peça da Kid’, reforçando a idéia democrática do street lifestyle da marca.
Depois houve uma after-party com vários Munnys de 8’’ customizados por 20 designers à venda com parte da renda destinada à “War Child Canada”.

Será que haverá mais desfiles da Kidrobot como este na próxima temporada? Esperamos que sim.

That’s why we Love Kidrobot! Paul Budnitz’s “dream machine” is not limited to toys to compose its product line, but it also uses fashion as a way to express the brands lifestyle and allow people to feel on their skin (literally) what is like to dress in toys.
Names “Kidrobot show and Project Munny Canada”, the fashion show was at the 21st March, 8:00 pm and took place on Circa (long time partner) during the L’Oreal Fashion Week in Toronto, Canada. The white runway was contrasted with the colorful apparel and the Hunter Wellington boots, who sponsored the event. A white Mega Munny on a pedestal at the end of the runway was customized by artists/models while others did break dancing and posed to the audience.
Differently from a fashion show you are used to, the models weren’t stereotyped, but normal people, like those we’ll find on the street wearing a Kid’ hoodie, intensifying the brands democratic street lifestyle.
There was an after-party with some 8’’ Munnys customized by 20 designers for sale and part of the money will go to the “War Child Canada”.

Will be there anymore Kidrobot fashion show next season? We hope so.
